A candid, open meeting between the counselors and the parents of each of the students they are responsible for, starting in the 9th grade. The parents need to know what the compiled information looks like for their child, and based on the assessments that have been done (tests, etc), what has been determined to be the most realistic approach after high school and what needs to be done to get the student on track with the goals the parents and student have set for after high school..

I realize that this conversation may take place between the counselor and the student, but the parents are held accountable for the success of their children and they need to know how they have performed and how they match up against other..
